CANON POWERSHOT A4000 IS | An attractively priced camera with an 8x zoom lens.

The PowerShot A4000 IS is Canon’s new entrant in the above entry level segment of compacts. The camera is stylishly designed and is available in a range of colors. Though this model is not that highly priced, it comes with features that are found on higher end cameras, such as 8x optical zoom, giving you great close up shots. Canon’s image stabilizer works well to keep the blur to a minimum. It is fi tted with a 16 MP CCD sensor and is powered by a DIGIC 4 image processor. The interface is extremely simple to use and most of the operation is done using the set and menu buttons. A first-time user can get familiar with the functionality within minutes. The A4000 IS has various presets like fi sh eye effect, miniature effect, toy camera that allow one to capture artistic images. 1080p video recording isn’t available, but you can record at 720p at 25 fps. The performance of the camera is good and colors from images shot outdoors appear accurately. In indoor shots, the picture quality is not that great as there was an amount of image grain seen. Videos recorded at 720p were decent and there was suffi cient clarity observed. Priced at Rs 10,580, it offers great features for a casual photographer at an attractive price.
